Ricardo Ricorda, 2025

In Summer 2024, I got approached by Marco Grosso, the director of Ricardo Ricorda. He asked me to make the storyboard for his first animated shortfilm based on his script and I happily obliged. I’m eager to gain more experience storyboarding after all! First and foremost, I helped him shorten the script. I then proceeded to create the storyboard for 8.5 minutes of film, by dividing the process to three stages/versions. The first version was made of quick and dirty pencil thumbnails. The second stage was adding and removing more thumbnails to it, with feedback from the director. The final version was drawn digitally, with description and further information, after the director greenlit the second thumbnail version.

After everything was drawn, I presented the storyboard with live voice over to the director and the rest of the crew. They were happy with it and agreed to proceed to the next stage.

I offered the director my availability to do the layout to which he decided to hire me for four scenes, out of budgeting reasons. You can see the layout art I’ve made for Ricardo Ricorda below!
